126 electric lift questions
 

My 126 runs great, but I have been having problems with the elec lift. It goes down ok but try to lift the blower it might go up 1/2 ".

Noticed when I test battery voltage it jumps all over the place 2-18 volts. I took the switch apart yesterday cleaned all the contacts still have the same problem. I took the lift off and brought it to a local electrical shop and the lift tested out good.

I also have the spring assist on my 126 but it seems like it just doesnt have enough ump to lift the blower. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Was this a "load test".........???

Did the shop check the bearings in the lift? Or just the motor? Usually if they work ok without a load but stop once a load is put on it, it could mean the bearings are shot (No.6 and 5 in the pic) I replaced them in a 147 lift and it fixed it. https://polr.partstree.com/v1/iplima...I7aToxMDAwO319

Sounds like a weak battery, I'd take it somewhere and have it load tested.

Battery was load tested and it turned out good.

Ordered a refresh kit from ebay, hopefully that will help. Will let you know how it turns out, Thanks

Well I completely tore down the electric lift, degreased & cleaned everything. Purchased the refresh kit from ebay.

I reassembled the lift with the correct grease, put it back on the cub and the translating tube will rotate both ways. But the only way it will try to lift the blower is if i pick up on the translating tube it might move a 1/2" max.

Everything inside of the lift looked good, not wore out everything fit nice and snug.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Next thing will be to locate a aftermarket replacement. As this is the only way to lift the attachments on my 126.

Does it lift ok with not so much of a load?

Does the tractor have a spring assist?

IIRC the translating the should not turn until it gets to the end of it's travel. You may need to adjust the rubber on the end of the clevis.

I'm not saying that it definitely would not, but I'm not completely sure an electric lift would pick up a snow thrower when they were new if the tractor didn't have a spring assist.

It does have the spring assist, i tried adjusting it but still same results.
