Driveshafts different lengths from 1211 to 1810?
I'm in the middle of an engine swap from my 1810 to my 1211. I've got the controls swapped over to the 1211 for the Magnum 18. I went to bolt up the engine and it seems as if the 1211 driveshaft is about an inch too long. I didn't realize this until I went to bolt the engine bracket to the frame:bash2:. If they're different, is it easy to swap the shaft out? Is there access to it by removing the tunnel cover up top? I'm taking a break from it for the night. I ruined my back wrestling that 18 in there.

I just looked up the part numbers on the driveshafts and they are different. Can they be removed from the top without pulling the engine again?

It should be removable through the tunnel. You can probably shorten the one you have and re-use it if it's in good condition.

If you do not want to shorten the original, they show up on ebay for not too much money, pretty often.

Jeff in PA can hook you up with a new one or get a piece of 4140 and make your own if you can't reuse to old one. Make sure you assemble both ends and take a measurement for the new shaft. One of the last set of rag joints I picked up from my dealer where a little thicker and I had to make a new shaft.
