*•* Dirty Wheel *•*

Well I've been trying to think of a way to save my original steering wheel on my Cub Cadet 73 and googled steering wheel wrap and came up with the paracord idea. So went to the ole box store and got me 60' of green yellow and black stripped paracord 1/8 thick and started to wrap it. I saw a video on YouTube of a guy wrapping his fishing net so I did it the way he did and it turned out really good. My steering wheel had chunks of rubber missing off it and just didn't look appealing to the eye. So if you have a bad looking steering wheel this may work out for you.

Looks good, it would look better without the green! :biggrin2:

I knew that comment was coming about the "green". I like it turned out good to me.

Just get a new/different wheel.....

I spent $5.40 on the paracord and a new wheel is around 30-50 that I've seen. I like the $5.40 better.

and if you get caught in a survival situation while your mowing the grass it may save your life.:biggrin2: sorry i couldnt resist. its a good idea, id like to hear how well it holds up in the long run.

That is a labor of love if I ever saw one. How long did that take?

I had a 70 with a dirty wheel, they used black rip cord, funny thing it was perfect under the cord when I took it off

Ya time will tell how long it will hold up. It took me about 45min- 1hr to get it all done. I figure I can always replace the rope it it gets bad.
