tiller pulley

well after further inspection of the tiller: well I took the belt cover off to put the belt on the big pulley on the tiller itself, and noticed that the outside edge of the big pulley is gone ?? what the heck would cause this !! im sure its gonna be a pain to find a replacement !

Rubbing against something and/or misalignment....!!!

im pretty confident I can put an edge back on , just have to be carefull with the welder, and then some finesse with the grinder ! well its probably cast so maybe not !

came across grainger item #1L840 looks like this might work, except i think it is cast AL. Any Ideas guys?? I was thinking, as long as I get something that has the same shaft dia. same size outer dia. with a keway, it should work, correct?

NO....do NOT use a cast aluminum pulley. You need a cast iron pulley.

I was not planning on using an AL pulley just saying that as long as I find something close, it will work, as long as the shaft size is correct, and dia is close, I think it will work as long as its cast iron or cast steel

I think ive found one that will work, but it is a .25 OD smaller,as long as the shaft size is the same im good to go . looks like they have about any pulley or sheave, anyone could ask for !
