Watermelon

So I planted a whole garden but all the ran we had early in the summer killed everything but one watermelon plant and it managed to produce just one melon. That melon is now the size of a football and the outside is starting to turn orange, should I pick it?

You might be right, after looking at some pics online it would appear to be a pumpkin. Not really sure how I got a pumpkin growing nowhere near where the pumpkins were planted but oh well, my son will enjoy it.

I know what a pumpkin looks like but had to go online to compare how the plants looked, the plant definitely looks like a pumpkin but its growing where I planted the watermelon. Up until it started to turn orange it looked like a watermelon and since that's what I planted there I had no reason to suspect otherwise. I haven't had a garden in 20yrs and I've never grown pumpkins before.
