102 pto won't engage

Tried a search didn't find results. Put snow thrower on the 102 and turned pto on turned it right back off after nothing moved. Took gearbox cover off and filled with grease and got turning smoothly. Is the pto clutch toast now? Sure looks that way, looks like taking grill and good off is best way to tackle this?

Plan on removing the grill to get at it.

Did you check your pto linkage? Maybe it is too tight.

It is possible to pull the pto on a 102 without removing the cast grille....but its alot easier to remove it...ive done it both ways and try to remove the grille when i can

Was the 102 used before with a deck, so we would know if the PTO worked before, or was this the first time?

Thanks for the diagram got everything off, appears the wear button is MIA, the pto spins freely. From the diagram it is a type A pto. So maybe it isn't bad after all? Also, I have had the pto operating last winter with the snow thrower on. It is the only attachment I use the pto for on this machine. Just neglected to ensure the thrower was operating smoothly before installation, good learning experience.

I have WF PTO's on both my NF 125's and they work great.

I had one aggravating day where I broke off two fiber PTO buttons inside of 20 minutes while installing the belt for the QA-42 snow thrower on my 125.

I "sacrificed" a small amount of a brass punch to make my first press fit PTO button. They last years and take more abuse ( changing belts ) than the fiber ones.
