Up date on my 123
I made a 400 mile run a week ago last Sat. and got my 123, It had been setting in a farmers machine shed for some time (as in a long time) all four tires flat, old gas in the tank. But for $150.00, it was all mine. So, I loaded it up and home it went.
As of tonight I have cleared the gas tank of rust cleaned the fuel line and tried to get gas to the carburetor, no luck on the carb will have to work on it some more. I changed the oil, spark plug, condenser, breaker, air filter, and replaced the battery. Tonight I set the gap on the breaker and ended up using a little starting fluid and had it running a little bit each time. I got the carb. cleaned. Gas is getting to it and I should have it doing laps around the yard. I will check the Hyd. oil and replace the Hyd. oil filter before I go too far or hard. Once I know it will run, I can start on a complete tear down, new paint and do the mod. I have in store. I will get photos posted as soon as I can get to them. Will post more when I have more to post. Joe |
