How Do I Remove the Mower Drive Belt From a 122?
 

This thing is guitar-string tight, even when I push the drive engage lever as far forward as it will go.

How do I remove this belt? Remove the mower?

At the front of the tractor, under the front grill, is a pair of idler pulleys that tension the belt. Loosen the tension rod nut. You can also drop the deck and it will move forward, releasing tension.

Then you need to release the PTO actuating arm at the PTO (front of the engine) to get the belt off the PTO.
