Deck belt keeps jumping off
My mower deck drive belt is starting to jump off more and more frequently, especially under load (tall grass). I'm wondering if it might be the pulley on the deck going bad? It seems to be a bit loose and wobbly. The belt is well used but should still be serviceable. The adjuster is still working and I have the belt tight. Anything else I could look at or is the pulley the likely culprit? I only need to get 2-3 more hours out of it before the deck comes off for winter anyway...

Try adjusting the front of the deck up a bit to align the belt with the pulley better, if the belt is hitting the pulley at to much angle that might be why it keeps coming off. I've had alot of decks with worn out spindles but never had one that would blow the belt because of it, you should get that spindle fixed asap but adjusting the deck might get you by until the end of the mowing season.

I wonder how big the deck is and if you have the right angle on the pulleys on your mule. I could not keep a belt on a 44 deck on a 1000 until I switched out the mule.

I had the same thing happen this week. The center spindle bearing disintegrated. I pulled the deck this morning

If it's loose and wobbles, that's not right. Gonna have to pull it and see what's up.

Could be that your belt is more of a round belt instead of a v belt. Once they start to wear they are more likely to role off the pulley.

the belt is old but I didn't want to put on a fresh one util I'm sure what's causing this. I'll take a closer look at the deck angle and such tomorrow

Did you find out anything on this? I have a 48" deck on my 122 that's did the same thing today, though this was the first time I hooked it up and ever tried the deck on this GT since getting it. I noticed the deck seemed to point downward and tried to lift the front by fully cranking down the hanger bolts at the front. But no luck. Belt stayed for about 10 sec.

Put some shims between the deck and the back hangers.
