lug tires
 

I am going to be ordering a new set of lugs soon. I already have a set of Carlisle 23x8.50-12's on my 129 and am getting a set of 10.50's for one of my 149's. It sees plow and tiller duty and not much mowing so I don't care if they are rough on a lawn.

Forget all about price here...I don't want an opinion about price. What tires have you run and what do you like or dislike about them?? I see there is basically Carlisle , Deestone , and Duro out there. There are slight size differences between the different makers and I am leaning towards the Duro because they look like they are a flatter profile across the tire and thought I'd try something different from what I have already.

I have Nanco front and rear AGs (23x10.50's) on my 1200 and I love them in the summer for yard work. Didn't have much luck with them plowing snow as opposed to using my 8.50's with chains. I swap the fronts side to side in the winter for much improved steering.They are bulgy compared to the Carlisles.These are loaded and have absolutely no air pressure in them just what I couldn't fill with ballast. I may pay the extra for Carlisles that I am planning to use on my project tractor but they will be 8.50's.

Thanks for the pics Pat!! Looks killer with the lugs on the front. How is the ride with them front lugs? Also , aren't Nanco and Deestone the same exept for the name on the side??

I have chains and a few sets of 10.50 and 8.50 Goodyear turfs in excellent shape for plow duty. I , as you do , have had good luck with the 8.50 lugs with chains in the snow also.

i just bought a set of carlise trupowers. heard they were the best to get and i liked the tread best and where they were made. America!

I am running destone ags front and back and love them. they work great mowing the yard in the summer, less of a wheel track.in the winter,they work just as well blowing or plowing snow up my steep driveway. I dont like running chains because it scuffs up my concrete driveway. Destones and Nancos are the same just the name is different. Nothing wrong with these tires accept for being a little undersized compaired to the carliles,but if money was not a problem,I would buy carliles because they are made in the usa!:American Flag 1:

Well , I got the Deestone 10.50 ags. Nice tires but they are a little shorter and narrower than a Carlilse would have been. Also picked up a set of 4x8 tri ribs and a set of Vredestien 5 ribs. Going to try fluid in the 5 ribs to keep the front down when the tiller is on. Had a dilemma...3 tractors and only one with a set of front tires that were worth a darn.

Only mounted the tri ribs so far. Put them on my 129 and they are great! Between a steering rebuild , hiem joint ends , and the new tires , it steers like a dream. The others have to wait till I get one of the 149's stripped down and powder coated.
