While I had the engine out I figured I would change out the clutch.
Upsy daisy. Little easier to get at it this way. |
Using a set of those fresh turned plates?

Good, glad to hear they work nice. I used a $50 set of soft jaws in my 8" chuck to cut those clutch plates. |
That away Lew, feet up in the air makes getting at those parts much easier..:bigthink::bigeyes:

Finally put this 70 back together after the po put a k241 in it.
I had to fix the clutch and the throttle cable need to be changed. Squeezed the axle channel together to take out slop, and all new tie rod ends. Rebuilt the PTO,put on the correct fuel line, muffler, and tank. Turn the key ,push the button, putt putt putt putt.......... This is my early production 70, it has a thinner axle,no notch in the clutch arm for the steering column, and a rear cover plate that has a cutout. But I found another difference, can you see it? It is under the hood. need to paint that red filter cover:bash2: |
Big battery box?
About the rear cover with cut out. I have a couple of those and always wondered what the cut out was for? |
Red air cleaner cover. :biggrin2:
