Flywheel ?

Ok guys, looking for a little bit of advice.

Just started the 73. now that its running, I am noticing that the flywheel-pulley on the front of the engine is bent. Could that bend the crank or crack something?:bigthink:

I may cause a vibration problem and chew up belts. I would suggest that you replace it.

But will it break the case or crank? There is no question that it needs replaced but I don't think I will have it done in time for a show around here if I get in to that. I need to get it on a trailer, off the trailer and back home.

I highly doubt it.

Thanks. One more thing, the pulley on the generator is slipping allot. When you try to start it will spin and catch after a few seconds. Can you get different pulley sizes or is it the belt?

seems like it is the belt,or the s/g basket pulley is slipping on its mounting thingy....

Yeah, you may have a bad belt or not enough tension on it.

ok. I probably have a bad belt because the belt is tight on the pulleys. The thing is that it sits really nice on the big pulley.
