weight question on #149
 

what would be the total weight for a 149 w/ wheel weights and a full tank of fuel? i've got a small trailer that it fits on perfectly (1000 lb. axle weight), but i'm concerned about overloading it. any help would be appreciated.

Tractor is about 700#, wheel weights (one set) = 50#, Fuel (full tank) = 20#, Deck = 150#.

If your trailer is like mine with the (same 1k axle weight) your springs are softer then the 1k limit. I have carried my 122 with FEL in it without any problems. If the springs bottom out ie the tires rub on the fenders send me a pm.

With 1000lb axle weight, you've also got to consider the wieght of the trailer on the axle. Since the tractor weighs 920 and you know the trailer weighs more than 80lbs, technically you'd be over weight. It sucks that a person could buy a 5x10 with 3500lb axle and haul more weight than a 6x12 with 3500lb axle which means the items on the bigger trailer would have to weigh less. Kind of defeats the purpose of the bigger trailer unless you get a tandem axle. I was looking at getting a 6x14 single to haul the 782 and 982d with accessories but I'd be pushing my weight limit so I've got to go with a tandem axle.

no deck---but i do have a tiller on the back!! should be about the same weight as a deck. shouldn't it??

i'm right on the edge of being a bit "heavy", aren't i? i'm not going to be doing any "long-hauls" with it. just around town doing tilling jobs for folks.

another question? what does "FEL" stand for?

A tiller weighs a lot more than a mower deck. I can lift and move a deck by myself. Tiller, no way. FEL = front end loader.
