Wide frame (1450) hitch rockshaft
1 Attachment(s)
First post here! I recently got a nearly free 1450 (well used) and have been tapping you guys for knowledge through your posts.
I've done the engine cradle mod, solid mounts from Jeff in PA, trunion repair, Ross steering gear rebuild with bearing's....... Now it's running and driving as it should. Now I want to fabricate the hitch rockshaft and I need the OEM dimensions of the rock shaft arm pivot center to pin center and length of the lift arm. Can anyone out there give me the dimensions that I seek? I have seen another thread titled "homemade rocksaft" but there were no dimensions listed. Thanks, Chris |

Chris, Welcome to OCC!
This thread has dimensions in it, I don't know the pin length though. http://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/s...tch+dimensions Update us with what you come up with, we like pics! :beerchug: Bill |
pivot points
Just in case, you didn't know there were two types of mountings for these. One style has bushings welded on the frame and a pivot pin goes all the way through. The second style has no bushings but gets a special pivot bolt that bolts into the holes that style one has, but without the bushings.

Budscub, yes, I was aware of the two mounting styles. Mine has the bushings and I will use pins.
Bill, thank you for the link. That does give me the dimensions for the lift rod but not the dimensions for "E" in the attached diagram. After I get some dimensions I will mock it up and definitely post some pics. |

I got 6 1/2" O.C. from back of the pin.

Well,well
Well Bill, you are correct and I am an idiot.
I was doing this from my cracked screen phone yesterday. The crack just happened to run along and obliterate the measurement numbers. It wasn't till this morning that I looked on an actual computer and.....VOILA.....Just as you said. Ha ha, you guys are kind for not saying "hey dummy, the diagram you posted as the measurements right on it ". |
