All set for winter now
I just had my oil tanks topped off. I just purchased 889.7 gallons of heating oil at $1.979 a gallon  ( for the local folks, Country Side Fuel in Womelsdorf, Pa Countryside Fuel | Heating Oil, Gasoline, Diesel Fuel, Kerosene )
Since we burn both coal and have the Franco Belge gravity feed oil burner going during the cold months, the filled tanks should last two years :beerchug: 1100 gallons capacity :Woo: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7...A.jpg~original |
Wow Jeff, what a tank farm! Is the oil burner air or hot water heat? Is the coal tied in? I have been thinking of putting a small coal stove in my basement next to my air handler and cutting a big hole in the return air duct to circulate the heat throughout the house. These polar vortexes are putting a hurting on my electric bill during the winter. :bash2:

EPA is out of control. ( I'll just let it go at that  ) |
Way to plan ahead Jeff!!! It is a lot better when you purchase while the market is low. Last year, in my area, propane was at a premium and people were limited on how much they could purchase for heating/cooking/etc. But that won't happen to you!! Reminds me of the 3 little pigs story....plan ahead!:biggrin2:
I was just thinking how the daylight hours are getting shorter each day after the summer solstice (June 21st). Cub Cadet 123 |
Good to see you plan ahead. Fuel Oil use to be popular my my area, but it faded away. Come the 80's LP became popular and is now king, other than Natural Gas.
People in our area, starting in July & August, buy and pre-pay their LP when the price is low, for the entire winter, and then just have it delivered on a as needed basis. |
June 25th and the winter talk is already starting. I hate winter. :BB&YS:
