Hello everyone.

In the picture, part 7. Grill/ hood extension/ head light panel. What ever you want to call it.

Can someone verify the type of metal please?

Cast aluminum? Zinc pot metal? Something else?

I broke mine and need to figure out what metal it is for repair.

I'm pretty simple, so I think I got this... I'm pretty sure it is cast aluminum.

It is cast aluminum. I had a friend TIG weld one for me but couldn't get it to hold. It broke again right away. I ended up buying a good used one.

Biggest key to aluminum welding is cleanliness in metal prep

Geesh...can't you guys spell, or what??!!!!

use a file to shine up a spot.
drip some vinegar on the spot.
if it foams a bit, and turns a bit darker when wiped away, it is zinc (diecast).
if the vinegar does nothing, and the spot stays the same or gets shiny'r it is aluminum.
