Static timing question.

Do you start procedure with S in sight hole during a static timing test? And then followed by what?

Yah I've been reading this, but it doesn't really say to start procedure with S in sight hole?

Roll it over by hand in the normal direction of rotation. When the meter goes to infinity look for the S. If it is past the hole tighten up the gap. If it has not gotten to the hole yet widen the gap.

if the points start to break with the S in the sight whole then you are done. I would back it up abit and see what your VOM does as the S appears in the whole. then adjust from there.
