Picked up a 126
 

Scrolling through craigslist this morning and seen this so I called and made an offer and picked it up. He said he had it running but it stinks like old gas it has a new clutch disc and anti rattle springs in it, it came with a deck and all the tires hold air. I gave $185 for it, I'm gonna go over it and get it going and put it to work

You did well! It pays to troll through CL and see what is on there early in the morning. The 126 is a low production number machine (rare in that respect). I picked mine up for a song, too and enjoy the ride.....Hope you enjoy yours, too! Keep us informed on your progress on it.

Update on the 126
 

I got it running on carb cleaner after I cleaned the points, took the carb off and have it to a buddy of mine to soak in some cleaner it was really gummed up. Gave it a bath and degreased it and it cleaned up pretty well I think, the deck is in pretty sad shape but the spindles seem good so maybe I can salvage them. Hopefully I'll get the carb back and get it going this weekend so I can put my good deck under it and put it on grass duty and give my 71 a break.

Glad you got it and are putting it to work. I'd hate to see someone make it into a puller. :beerchug:
