QL 1000 starting issue

Hello gentlemen- My QL 1000 was working fine on Wednesday when I drove her into the shed. When I went to start her up last night all I got was clicking. My first thought was the battery since I have had issues before where I bought it. I threw a charge on the battery today and still clicking not turning over. Any ideas? The Starter/Alternator is only a year old. Thank you in advance. Chris:American Flag 1:

Sounds like it could be a ground issue. Check the engine to frame (near the starter I think) and battery to frame ground connections. Make sure they are bright and tight. May also want to check battery voltage, make sure it didn't crap out.

starter and alternator are separate on QL . starter is on the right side and the alt is under the flywheel. which is new? along with checking the grounds the relay is what's clicking. check to see if its sending voltage to the starter and make sure there's good connections.

Thank you all so much. I plan to tear into it this afternoon. Both the starter and alternator are a year old. Any other ideas is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Chris

Like dvotype said- check the connections at the battery and all the way thru. Same thing happened on my 1450 a couple years ago that was the problem. Cleaned up the connections and made sure the metal was making good contact everywhere - problem solved.

Thank you all for the reply's. That is what was wrong. Took some steel wool and bingo bango fired right up. This site is such a great resource. :beer2:

The brake pedal safety switch will give you fits too, mine acts up on the 1211 some. Press it up and down a few times then it will crank. Glad you got it fixed!
