Good morning. Is there a reference chart
That decodes the serial numbers?

The last 6 numbers are the serial number. Go to the tech section, page 2, and you can see when your tractor was built.

It says yours was built July 1976

The 205 is the IH code for Garden Tractor
The 0580 is the IH code for the specific build model number. In your case 1200
The "U" is the IH code for made in the USA
The next is the actual sequential serial number
