Got my 3 point and Brinly disc

I got my 3 point hitch from xtreme motorworks put on my 982 yesterday. I got my new cat 0 straight shank ripper I bought from xtreme also. I had it built with bolt on shanks so it can be converted from a 7 shank to 4 shank etc. I haven't had a chance to use it yet but I will. Yesterday after I installed my 3 point I mounted up my Brinly 3 point disc I bought a week ago. The disc has new 12" blades on it that only have been used twice. I plan on taking it clear apart after spring and replace some worn parts and give it a resto job. My plan is to paint it like an IH 475 farm disc with International and 475 decals.

Nice! I just used mine yesterday to cut up the old plants in the garden before I plowed, they sure work good! I like that ripper !!!

Thank guys! Do you have any pics of your disc on your cub? Id love to see them. I havnt got yo use my disc yet but ive read and heard they do a great job. Do you add any weight to the disc to help it cut? Ive read a lot of guys say to add 75-100 lbs on the disc so it cuts better.

I usually put two cinder blocks on it and it helps. Here's an old picture I have of them.

Sweet setup you have there! :beerchug: Does the tractor pull it good or do you recommend wheel weights or front suitcase weights in your opinion? Sorry for the questions but id like to know from guys who have used them from experience. I plan on disking my 2 acre field that was moldboard plowed last fall.

Thanks! Currently I have both rear wheels loaded and 50 lb wheel weights and it does good. The diesels do fine without any front weight, but my 982 was a little light in the front so I just used the turning brakes if I needed to. If you have front weights I would use a few.
