Duals For The Loader Tractor.......
3 Attachment(s)
When I picked my Johnson loader from "ccpullin" aka Dave Harmon, I also bought a set of dual wheels off of a Toyota mini home. They have the same bolt pattern as the Cubs. The wheels are 14 inch so I had to come up with some tires. The tires are 7-14 Ags.
I picked them up from the powdercoater this week. Today, I have mocked them up on the tractor I'm using as a mock up platform for my loader. What I like about the narrow wheels and tires is that the duals don't overwhelm the tractor. These duals only set out about 2 inches further than the original wheel with a 26-12-12 single tire. One thing that is strange about this setup is the inner wheels are 5 1/2" wide and the outer wheels are 5" wide. Here are some pictures of the wheels on the tractor. Tim |
That's cool! :beerchug:

Looks like it will work great!

That's gonna look awesome! :beerchug:

hmm...interesting idea. i always considered the idea of duals on my 782 and johnson loader but the duals would stick way out past the bucket and basically get in the way. but i like that setup. narrow "row crop" look.

That is very cool, I am a huge fan of Budd style wheels.. I bet once mounted and ready to go it will look awesome. A couple pics installed would be awesome.

J-Mech, you're right they aren't true Budd wheels but they do have a look that resembles Budds.
Think they will look pretty good. I'm going to get the tires mounted and fluid in the two inside tires this week. Then I'll get them set on a tractor to see what they look like. If anyone wants to see a similar setup search for Tim Crutcher's thread about a Haban sickle bar mower. He has a similar set of duals on that tractor. I don't know how to post a link to that thread. Maybe someone can post a link for me. Tim |
A couple posts by Tim AKA TIMCRUTCHER
The wheels he used look different than what you are using. http://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/s...ad.php?t=30384 http://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/s...ad.php?t=30064 That said I like what your doing. Looking forward to pics with tires on them. |
Sam, You are correct that Tim used different wheels. I talked to him a while back and he told me that he made his duals using automotive wheels and some sort of dual spacer.
Thanks for the links. I just wanted to show what the 7-14 tires looked like dualled up and mounted on a tractor. Hopefully, I'll have a chance to get mine mounted this week. Tim |
