New Ohio deal
Hello everyone, Eric here and just bought a 1200 cub cadet for a measly $190.00... Wasn't sure as to the deal I got till I got it home and started to look into it. The drive plate is toast, and I have to say that I will need to rebuild the clutch too. The previous owners jammed wood into the clutch to move it before parking it. It runs like a champ, the good ol' 12hp Kohler is tight, and no knocks or smoke, and carb is not way outta wack. No mower deck, but have the snow plow. My yard is too small for mowing with it anyways. Was more for hauling the kids down and a toy for me to play with. lol

The cub is going to be fun. Have already been looking up all i can for the info on it, and my 15 year old is looking forward to working on it too so he can pull it. Just from looking at all the different items for the pulling tractors I have realized a lot of it I can make at work. I run an industrial laser cutting company and really enjoy designing and building what I design. Was a bit bummed as the driver plate I need requires a mill to be able to finish out which we do not have. So bought one of Brian Miller's 3 pin driver plates and aluminum clutch plates. Just waiting on those to come in to get it really rolling again.

The way I look at it...anytime you can get a Cub with a good running Kohler it's worth the $ you paid. Should be a nice ride when our done with it. I am also from the buckeye state, up here in Clinton near Akron. Hope your not too close to me...wouldn't want someone buying up all the Cubs I see (and hope to buy one day) around here. :BB&YS: Glad to see your post. Enjoy and let me know if I can help. |
