1962 Original clutch/brake pedal
 

The clutch pedal no longer springs back to engaged position- If I do it manually, it engages.

Seems like you need a clutch return spring or the clutch pedal is sticking.

If you have to pull the pedal up to get the clutch to engage, it sounds like the T.O. bearing has worn the shaft and is getting caught. Time to pull it apart and rebuild/replace the entire assembly.
