Tire Chains

I have these tire chains that fit well, but not familiar with! Which side of chains goes against tires? In pictures I have the side peeled back that I have against the tires now!

The chains are on the wrong way in the lower left picture.

Yeah those go v out. I have used a set for my two wheel conversion van. Those things made that van a tank. Went through about 18" of snow pulling a 2 place snow mobile trailer. When stopped 2 miles in to unload the sleds and go ice fishing found I was plowing snow with the front of the trailer the whole way and didn't spin a tire. Very impressive and worth the extra money for dirt roads don't know how bad it would mark up your cement driveway if you have one. I use standard 2 link on my cub.

Where the crossbars are attached to the chain the open side of the loop formed when the link is bent around the chain to attach it should be away from the tire like in the picture
Cubby posted. Not all chain have the extra v or crossbars on the cross links.

I am pretty sure the OP's question has been answered, but sometimes I just like to post pics. :biggrin2:

Shrew, were those V bar at one time? My guess is no. But if so, those are the most wore down Vs I have ever seen, obviously years of service on that set.

No, I think these were made before they even came out V-bars. :biggrin2: I bought them used and cheap but they work great! :beerchug:
