What's Your opinion ??
Ok guys. I picked up a nice 169 last week and a 127.I was attracted to the 169 because of the rarity. The 127 because of aesthetics. There is a local collector that really want's the 169. He has 2 and wants a third, so He and his sons can enter them in local parades. So here is what I'm going to do. I'm selling him the 169 for what I paid for it [CHEAP] and in return he will provide all of the 127 parts and a mower deck that I need. Here is my question. Is there any reason the old style narrow frame rectangular fenders [105] would not work on the 127 ? I would prefer to mount those instead of the stamped fenders.

Thanks Wild Bill. I know what the tractor is worth. But this guy will take care of the tractor and appreciates it's pedigree. It's going to a good home and I'm going to build a cool 127 Hybrid !!

Hi Mark,
See if you can somehow work a shiny set of 100 headlights into the deal:High5: My cub needs peepers. Enjoy your time off dude. |
Without going to look I can't put my finger on what it is, but there is a difference in the frames between the 1X6/7's and the 1X4/5's.
The 1X6/7's have that extra bracket for the 3pt. hitch that the others don't have. The 1X6/7's may just use that bracket because the tunnel doesn't go all the way to the back of the frame to make room for the "hole" under the seat. I don't know if that alone will cause problems putting the 1X4/5 fenders and seat on the 1X6/7 frame or not. Good luck, keep us posted as to how it works out. |
Well, I find out tomorrow if they fit. Art, I already mentioned the 100 headlights to him. I think I'm going to have to arm wrestle him for the lights. Good luck on the Airbus this week. Looks like rain !!! :ExtremeFunny: Tell Bob I'll drop off his new digging bar this week. It keeps rolling around in the back of the Dakota. I'm afraid if I make a sudden stop it's going to impale me. :Swear:

Mark !
If you have to arm wrestle him for the lights , What does he get if he wins ? Make sure we get pics of that 127. :WWP: |
No the fenders do not work. The transmission housing is about 2 " shorter . It creates a gap. I'm going to have to get the sheet metal brake out. Also the foot rest mounts different to the frame. Nothing is ever easy....... However, the fender rest will slide up to fill the gap and the mount holes align ,,,but it make the rear frame look open. More research required. Very interesting visit to George's. He does have 100 Cubs. Nice guy. I got so wrapped up in what was going on, I forgot to take photo's. I'll be back down to see him. On the way back I ran across these pieces of equipment along the road. These look modified from the original intent. I think the roller used to have a hit and miss engine on it. The bucket has a tractor as the main power unit. What is it a Farmall ?
