#4 Cart Dimensions

Can someone post the dimensions of the bed on a #4 cart? Is there a place I can find an owner's manual for a #4?

Thanks!

Bob

#4 Cart Dimensions

Bob:

Do you have a #4 (1976-1980) or a #4A (1980+)? I have the #4 and the bed dimensions are:

High: 12"
Wide: 30"
Long: 47"

Here is a link to the older #4 cart.
6 pages counting the cover.

Thanks for the help guys.

I don't have a cart at all but I really want a #4. I am in Felton, California and Cub Cadets and IH implements are rare. I was out to dinner with some friends last night and it turns out one of the guys has a brother that deals in used farm equipment in San Joaquin Valley which is the agricultural center of CA. He mostly works with the big stuff but he likes Garden tractors best. I am going to pit him on the hunt for a #4 cart and I wanted to get as much information to his as I could so he doesn't get a #2 or #3.

I grew up on a 108 in Illinois. We had a red cart made by Ohio Steel Fabricators that looked just like a CC #4 cart. Did Ohio Steel Fabricators make carts fro IH?

Good call. A #3 was made for lawn tractors and a #2 is too close to the ground to be completely effective IMO.

I'm not 100%, but I believe they did.

Ohio Steel (now Ohio Steel Industries) made the cart for IH/CCC, John Deere, AC and Simplicity among others.

Yes they did make them. I have an Ohio Steel cart that looks like a #4 but is much larger it has about a 15 cu ft capacity whereas a #4 has a 9 ( I think)

How long have you had that cart? How do you like it?

I saw Ohio Steel carts online and I wondered how they stacked up to the IH carts from 40 years ago. If they are built well they may be worth the cost. I do remember seeing that they were very expensive.

It's an older one. It was my Uncles. I can't really say I have had any problems with it except for blown tires but that's my own fault. I was hauling firewood one day and on the last load I blew a tire.
