Sleeve Hitch Fertilizer/Salt Spreader
A few years ago, I built a mounted salt spreader for my 100. It worked good but it wasn't exactly quick attach. I tore it apart and rebuilt it as a sleeve hitch mount. The frame is ready to sandblast and paint. The spreader wheel is driven with a cordless drill motor and gearbox. I used the trigger from the drill to give me variable speed so I could find the perfect speed. I mounted it from above as the last motor was underneath and locked up when salt and snow got into it. The baffle in front of the spreader is made from the bottom of a bucket. It should keep salt off the back of the tractor.

Nice revamp of the old spreader. That will surely do the trick, oh I want one of those. My son would use it a lot for his snow work. So many cool ideas and only one lifetime to build them all. sigh...

Nice build, well done :beerchug:

Thanks guys. I'll be sure to post more pics.

Thanks for the pictures. A picture such as this is better than a 15 page manual trying to explain it. Of course having the aptitude to think of it in the first place would be handy too! Thanks for sharing.

EXCELLENT job! I've wanted to do something like this but wasn't sure how to power it/connect the drill to the spinner at the bottom. Def need more pics! :beerchug:

Very kool! I am also looking to do some of the same sorts.. Lots of ideas, but no money for them..

Finally got the spreader sandblasted and painted. I'll try to get it back together and try it out this week. I need to spread some weed & feed on the lawn. My dandelion crop is thriving this year.

i was planning on building something similar to yours, except i was going to use a blower motor from a car,and a aftermarket heater fan switch which allows for multiple speeds. i suppose you could also use a blower motor resistor from a car
