Wanting to learn about my 3 point hitch

.

I have a couple questions about the 3 point hitch on my 1541.

What brand is it? Brinly?

And this thing sways side to side until it hits the tires. I'm wanting to use a 3 point mount spot sprayer and need to stop the sway. I've experimented using a couple ratchet straps in an "X" pattern and it stopped the sway. Is this what needs to be done using chain?

Any help, verbal or pictorial, is much appreciated :biggrin2:

The hook near the swivel ball at the end of the pull arm and the two hooks on the back of the pull arm are meant to hook chains to to stop the sway. Your hitch is made by CCC not brinly.

The trailer hitch thing is homemade. You might have known that.....

The 3pt is a Cat 0. 3Pt's are rated in size by a category number. (0-5, I think 5 is the highest, but may be a 6) Any implement that is stated as a Cat 0 will fit. If you are building you own, the dimensions on the hitch are as follows:

Of coarse, you need the specs for the Cat 0

Here is a link to the parts list for your hitch.

Short answer as others have said you have a Cat O three point hitch.

It looks to me like the offset on your wheels has them in closer then they should be. The drawbar between the 3 point arms looks like a factory MTD unit but as said, not the trailer hitch.

Thanks to everyone who helped! I finally got the "X" chains on and all is good. The trailer hitch is something I threw together from some scrap I had laying around and works great for moving my 16' trailer when I mow the grass or need to move stuff around the yard. Without the chains though it's a real pain to back up and turn with the trailer because it would sway into the tire and bind up.
