Found a international harvester cub cadet 482 on CC
 

Saw this on craigslist today was wondering if anyone knew is it worth fixing up? They want $60.00. I don't know much about this model what attachments it can run , engine size ect. Any one have any ideas? Thanks in advance for your info!

The 482 isn't highly regarded by most Cub Cadet enthusiast. It has a 11 hp Briggs horizontal shaft engine and a 4-speed Peerless gear drive transmission that also has a creeper gear. There's a drive shaft that goes back to a right angle gear box that drives a belt to a pulley on the transmission. It replaced the CC 1100. With the Briggs engine and Peerless transmission, plus the belt, it makes it not as desirable as other IH offerings. They were made starting in 1979 as part of the 82 series.

That one has the wrong engine and wrong wheels, too. For $60, you could get that and use it for parts for another 82 series, but that's pretty far gone to fix up again unless you're like me and have the parts lying around.

I was in a hurry when I posted, but Matt pretty much said what I was going to add to my post. It's worth $60 for the parts in it, especially if you have another 82 series or know of one that needs a few things.
