First off, welcome to the forum! Second, what you have there is a Garden Tractor, not a lawn tractor. I'm sure a mod will be along shortly to move this to the appropriate section.

Third, what you really have there is the potential for a great machine. If the hours are actually 444 (which is near impossible to tell since the hour meters can roll over forever), you got a rare bird. Either way, though, that could be turned into a nice worker. Do a search of the site and you'll find loads of info on the Quietline Series.

The biggest thing you're going to run into is the motor mount bolt rubber absorbers (called ISO's, makes looking them up easier) are probably shot. You can replace with stock new from Cub Cadet or replace them with solid mounts sold here on the site.

Have you tried firing it up yet? I'm sure it's going to need a carb rebuild and some fresh oil/trans fluid. Good luck with whatever you end up doing! :beerchug:

from my understanding the only thing it was used for was to mow the lawn. so i believe the 444 is correct, assuming it rolls over at 1000 hours. i can grab the engine and move it wherever i want so i know the motor mounts are shot, and the bolts are probably gone. it was parked due to a "major rod knock" that i believe is due to the mounts failing. it will be a while before i try to start it.

Those hour meters roll over at 600 hours.

Man, do I love the Quiet Line series garden tractor. Even when it needs a little work they still always catch my eye! Nice ride you have there, bud. I have the 1250 that I am adding Hydraulic lift too.

Man, I've been looking out in the weeds for years, and all I find is junk:bash2: You got the makings of a good tractor, if.......you want to put the time and money into it.
Congrats on a good find, and welcome to OCC:beerchug:

I have a 1975 1450 that I bought the beginning of the year and got running. It looked in worse shape than yours.

These are great tractors worth fixing. That one looks complete. I would go through it and see what it needs.

What is your serial number? I am curious to see how close it is to mine. The nice thing about the early QL tractors is they have the cast iron lower grill. My 1000(August 1977) has a cast aluminum lower grill.
