What are the 3 switches for though?

I was hoping someone would ask HAHA. So I plan to install a possible light bar on this tractor since I'll be using it a lot at night to move snow (plus I found out my neighbor is a welder by trade and likes to tinker like me HAHAHA). The first switch is for the front and rear lights. The others will be for front bar and rear bar lights. Honestly it was just a reason to play with the tractor :biggrin2: As a kid I was always into buttons and lights on EVERYTHING! OMG my remote control car had lights and rockets that could be run remotely from the car's controller HAHAHAHA. Here's some pics of the electrical. The goal was to keep this as a separate circuit from the main system. Even though I plan to run LED lights I was not sure and wanted to keep the load on the main system wires to a minimum. I'm using a long running solenoid that switches on off the ignition so there is no way to keep the lights on without the key in the on position (I'm a bit forgetful). I did some research on this solenoid and from what others where saying they also had good success running lights on their vehicles with it. Plus, now if I want to run a winch or anything else I can run them off the new solenoid and also know that they will not work without the key on. Is this a bit overkill, yeah, but it was fun and made me happy HAHAHA.

I agree Gene pretty cool...I have played around with the idea of adding some auxiliary lights as well. The main headlights are ok but I would like to see better my eyes aren't what they used to be!!!...I do have a question that is kinda sorta related to this...Does anyone know what tail light was originally used on the wide frames...an number a picture maybe??? I know they aren't available, but least if I could see what the originals looked like I could have a better idea as to what I want to use. The PO of my 149 used a set of Grote lights that had the metal base to them...and they weren't bad, however, one is broken and all the ones I have seen around these parts are plastic.

The ones I'm using are also plastic but at least they won't rust! HAHAHA and I like the way they look so it's win win :) Sorry, I'd have to look in some past threads to get the member's name that first posted these.

True I hate rust...god knows this old buggy has had its share... It is funny I have that same solenoid in mine, the original like yours under it blew up on me and needed replaced. Buddy across the street had one and given the fact they are so much fun to put in I just left it...works fine and who is to see it LOL!!!

Here's a link to the solenoid I bought. Not trying to advertise Amazon here but there are quite a few that look very simular to this one. I spent a few extra bucks because this one is supposed to be able to run for long periods of time and others commented that they have used it to run lights with success. My next option was maybe a SSR (Solid State Relay) since they have zero moving parts. Anyway, I'm glad you guys like this and I hope it helps someone out. I'll post the build to this here soon because there are some other items that I learned from members here on the forum that I would like to share and thank :)
