New rear PTO spline coupler
On my 1572 the spline on the coupler on my between the hydro output and the rear pto upper shaft were worn badly so I bought some 3/4" 11 spline couplers and had them machined for proper fit. They turned out great and I am excited to use the tiller without the vibration and rattling from the worn splines.

Those look like the same couplers I used to fix the splines on the fan in my 450 blower.

You may want to post a little more info about what you did. Who did you get the couplers from and what did you do as far as machine work. Or you could always just have a few made up and offer them for sale. My guess is most of the people that have a rear PTO are probably in need of one.:beerchug:

The spline couplers are from Surplus Center.
http://www.surpluscenter.com/Power-T...ING-1-2985.axd I had the local machine shop bore them to 7/8" and cross drill them like the originals. The fit is great. I had the machine shop leave the 7/8" side a little long so the coupler ride partly on a new part of the 7/8" shaft. I may be able to have some more made if anyone needs one. I think I have around $90 in this one, which is a little more than half of what cub was selling them for when they were still available. |
