1772 Wiring Diagram

While I do have the official CC wiring diagram, as Oak stated in another post I believe it is incorrect. The diagram I have makes no mention of the glow plug timer and glow plug light bulb method to indicate the glow plug duration. It appears that the 1772 schematic is simply a 1572 schematic with just a few minor changes. Did the 1772 have the light bulb indicator and electronic timer for its full run of the series or did it use the "heated coil" indicator that was used in the 1572, 1512 and 782D for part of its run?

On Partstree, under the electrical section, the timer and wiring harness are listed as parts callouts # 35 (KB-15694-65990) & 36 (725-3156) respectively. This is the extent of what I've found to include the timer and light into the schematic for the 1772.

According to the official Cub Cadet Wiring Diagram: Glow Light - Yes, Timer - NO

I guess I'll just have to scope it all out and see if I can modify an existing schematic to reflect what CC actually used. I've seen several 1772's on eBay, CL and other sources that have the "light bulb" type of glow plug indicator and not the heated wire type.

Frank, you are correct all of my 1772's have the light style indicator too.

The 2182 issue:

IIRC on the 2182 relay upgrade, the only reason for the relay upgrade was for a posible voltage drop on the seat or brake switch causing the sensor to turn the light on. Cub has this schematic wrong and I don't see how it could work the way it shows.

The 1772:

I think all 1772's use the light just like the 1782's did.

Sorry for the delay, but I've finally had some time to trace out the wiring on my 1772 to document the wiring that Cub Cadet left out of the schematic as it relates to the glow plug indicator light bulb and timer. Hopefully it will be readable in this post. I can supply it if necessary, just send me am IM and I will forward it to you.

I was thinkin' about the lightbulb indicator used to tell how long to glowplug the engine. What do you think about conecting a solenoid across the lightbulb and use it to provide power to glowplugs?
