k161 or k181
on the 72 im redoing i cant makout the k series modle number.can someone help me out with this,the p/o must have used paint stripper on the id plate.
i wanna rebuild it but dont know if its a 161 or 181, serial is d1888805 and spec # is 281083 j also if i wanna turn it into 8 hp do i need to change more then the connecting rod, thanks for any help |
First you must determine if it's a K-161 or K-181 and not a K-141. Even if the tag was legible Heaven only knows what a PO has done.
The bore on the K-161 and K-181's are the same (2.938") with the K-141 being 2.785". The stroke is where the difference is between the K-161 (2.500") and K-181 (2.750"). |
With the Spec Number of 281083, that indicates it is a K-161
