IH mower
 

Hello everyone. I tried posting this under wanted and didn't get much traction. I am looking for one of the old IH/Lawnboy push mowers from the late 60's early 70's. I recently was able to get my hands on one but it was not worth the rebuild. It was only electric start. Not able to be converted. It also needed a new carb, starter, etc... I am looking for one to semi-restore but also use in the spring for my edge work where my QL 1000 can't reach. Any help is appreciated. Also if you have any information on these I would appreciate. The reason you didn't get many responses is because there just not out there, those IH lawnboys are super rare. I know a guy on Philadelphia Craigslist had one for sale a while back but he wanted $450 for it and it didn't even run.

Olds is correct. They are like finding hens teeth.

You did it correctly by putting an ad in the wanted section. Just be patient. FWIW, not many guys on here will have one they want to part with. You say the one you got wasn't worth fixing. Well, keep in mind they didn't build many of these. Finding one that runs is harder yet than finding one. You are probably better off dropping the $$$ and fixing what you have. Although, I'm not sure you will want to use it after putting that much into one. If you need a push mower, might be better to just go get a new one, or a used anything off C-list. Just my :TwoCents:
