Serial# ID tag

This may be a strange question, but does anyone have and be willing to part with, or know where i could get a decent looking serial tag for a 1250 circa 1975?? I restored mine last year, and the guy who sandblasted the frame for me shot right over the plate...its toast and its been bugging me...i know its not the "pure" thing to do, but its a 1250, not an 800 or a 4 digit O....was hoping to maybe get one and put it on with some brass rivets....ive been looking, but close as ive came was a 1450.... not a big deal...thank you

I'm pretty sure this is the correct one. You stamp it yourself. It's for restorations. No worries, this is completely legal for anyone wondering. It's a tractor, not a car. :beerchug: If that's not correct, let me know and I'll look deeper, or you can look through their stuff.

Click on the pic for the link to the seller. It's a company I do lots of business with.

That's pretty cool! Are the tags for cub cadets or is it the same on some IH tractors? Hope you gave the guy that sandblasted it a few words. You would think he'd know better than to sandblast a serial number tag!

Thats excellent Jonathon, thank you...i will dig into it more tomorrow...

And yes i did....i was gonna even tape it off but then i figured be better the guy to see it!!! And i only did that because the one on the farm was loaned out to neighbor doing a few running gears!!! Pissed me off too!!

Here she is all ready for plow duty...nothing no one hasnt seen before, just figured everybody likes pictures.... thanks again!!! Ill let you know how it pans out....

Well it seams to me that that tag is just a tiny bit different, as perhaps only the small IHs in the corners....however, i think i may just go for it, i do like the idea of punching the original number back in there.....and of course, thank you again....

That's very cool, they also have the rivets that hold it on. I was thinking about doing the one for my 800, not blasted but all the black and letters are gone from industrial purple cleaner

Turns out that one is alot bigger also...ones on the cubs are approx .825"×2.225"....that one shown is 1.625"×3.5" .....plus the ones on the cubs dont have the provision for the model classification....ill tell you what, i was about ready to get it though, but the hole drilling killed it...i might try calling there and see what all is available or just even close...otherwise, anyone else have any options???? Thanks

For some reason I saw a guy in ebay who was selling a "lot" of ID tags or maybe it was a thread here that someone posted. I fell victim to the same thing with my 4 digit O starter generator tag but that one seems easier to do, maybe not. There's gotta be someone here that has one in parts or a frame or something, post an ad in the wanted section, they made so many.
