1440 hydrostat
This hydro was apart sometime b'4 I bought the tractor. Problem is can move hydro lever normaly when engine is not running, but with engine running is hard to move in either forward or reverse. Everything works fine other than the lever being hard to move when mowing. Possible relief valve stuck? Thanks

I have three of them with that hydro and all three are stiff to move with the engine running. Don't know if that's right or wrong but that's the way it is. The friction control is not the problem with mine either.

I moved this to the CCC/MTD Cub Cadet built Tractors (GT) area because the 1440 is a GT not a LT.
My 1641's with the Hydro Gear pumps are also a bit stiff compared to the hydro's in my other tractors with the Sundstrand pumps. Think it's just the design of the pump. :bigthink: |
Mike; You have 3 1440's? Would you be interested in mine? Serial #889002 My fleet consists of 2 1846's, One with Sno Blower, and one with front Blade; 1250 with horizontal shaft 18 HP Kolher with belly mount grader blade, and of course the 1440. All have mower decks except the 1250. John.

I have 4-5 of them with the Auto Gear hydro. They all have the increased speed control effort when the engine is running.
Only one 1440, the other three are 1641's. |
Thanks to both of you for the info! John
