Wiring for starter upgrade on 1782?

Ok, so I've said it before and I'll say it again, I'm electrically challenged. :bash2: I have been working on the starter upgrade for my 1782 and I don't want to fry my new starter by wiring it wrong.

There is a black wire with a male plug coming out of the starter, a stud for the battery cable and a female half to match the plug on the black wire.

Wiring besides the battery cable on the 1782 includes; a red wire going to the key switch, white wire going to the fuel solenoid and red/black wire going to the neutral safety switch. The battery cable obviously goes on the stud and the red wire from the key switch probably still goes on the same stud. How about the other 2 wires? I'm headed out to do some more on it and will take a picture in case someone wants one. Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks,
Geoffrey

Are you adding a starter relay? Or just swapping starters?

Better post a pic of what you have...

These are the 3 wires besides the battery cable. A PO used the orange wire as a replacement for the red wire sometime. It still goes to the key switch.

This is the new starter, like the one R Bedell used in his Kubota starter upgrade.

Please pardon my other non-spec wiring in the background. After everything is known to be working and fitting correctly I'm going to send the harness to Porch Electric to be rebuilt.

Got it! The starter cable and red wire going to the ign. switch go on the post, the wire from the shutdown solenoid connects to the black wire coming out of the starter and the wire from the neutral safety switch connects to the plug next to the starter cable stud. Everything seems to work like it should and it cranks much faster than the original starter did.
