Question on 108 headlights

I'm looking at this diagram and it seems like the headlights can be turned on with or without the key in the run position. Is this true? I'm going to be doing some light work and wanted to check on this.

Correct, they work whenever the light switch is pulled :beerchug:

Ok thank you.

Or turned. All my 1X8/1X9 series with headlights had the headlight switches that turned. :beerchug:

X2. Those are the best kind. That way the kids can turn the lights on and drain the battery so when Dad goes to start it he can wonder why it won't turn over. I used to do this all the time on Dad's big tractors (H and W9).

HAHAHA this is exactly why I was asking :) I plan to wire mine up a little different but wanted to make sure I was reading the diagram correctly before I tinkered away. Thanks for the info!

Gene,
there is a wire in the harness for the lights, just need lights a fuse and a switch.

Agreed but I don't want these lights to work without the key in the run position. Also have a little more in store for this project :bigthink:

Does anyone know the amount of wattage our S/G offers us to play around with for lights and accessories? I think the sealed beam lights that are standard are 35 watts each correct? These tractors also had the option of cigarette lighters, tail lights and electric lifts from what I can remember. I'm pulling directly off the battery but was just wondering what the point was at which the S/G could no longer keep up charging the battery. I'm not looking to run a disco off my tractor but did have a couple ideas in mind but wanted to do some checking before I committed to anything.
