New guy from Indiana/Wisconsin

Hi guys, great site. The town I grew up in (Edgerton, Wisconsin) had a small fleet of Red Cub Cadets that they used to mow the city parks and the school grounds and I really liked the 782 they had. I never really had a big enough lot in Wisconsin to justify a lawn/garden tractor. We recently transferred with General Motors from Janesville, Wisconsin (GM closed our plant there) to Fort Wayne, Indiana and the place we are renting has two acres to mow. Remembering back to my childhood and that 782 I always liked in Edgerton, I decided that was the machine I had to own. I found a 1981 782 in Ohio and picked it up last Monday. Probably paid too much for it but I am still very happy to own it. Again great site!

Welcome to our Forum.......:Welcome2:

I always like the 782 and have one myself. It doesn't matter how much you paid for your tractor, as long as you are satisfied.

Welcome. I assume you're working at the truck assembly plant in Ft Wayne?

Yep, I am working at the GM truck assembly plant driving forktruck back on the framepad.

Welcome to Cub Country!!! You think that you paid too much for your 782? What's a memory and a great garden tractor worth to you? Especially when it saves your back during the winter months moving snow, cuts your grass, pulls that wagon for you instead of lifting on that wheelbarrel, etc...and puts a smile on your face year round....

Very good point Cub Cadet 123. Every time I walk by the 782 I think of playing little league baseball watching those guys mow the park on those beautiful summer days.
