100 pto clutch problem
1 Attachment(s)
Guys,
On my 100 we installed the pto clutch and a new wear button , tried to put the grill casting back and there is no clearance to get the mower deck or snow blower belt onto the pto, what could it be ? Thanks :bigthink: |
The clutch may not be slid onto the crankshaft far enough or the frame is bent causing the grill to lean back. The PTO bearing needs to be flush to the end of the crank. There is barely enough room to get the belt slid in there when everything is perfect.

Bearing on.

is the basket pulley on the whole way?

PTO bearing is not on the shaft far enough. You can see in one of your first pics that the holes for the PTO are not lined up with the cut outs in the basket. Try again grasshopper. :beerchug::biggrin2:

Nickle does your new bearing have a snap ring on the outside edge? Bearing should go flush with crank snout, I've heard that the snap ring should be removed but can't confirm. Looks like it should go in another 1/8 to 1/4 inch or so, SAMs right Allen screw holes not lining up with cut outs

Ok I will line them up tomorrow, basket pulley is on far enough, no snap ring...
|
Make sure the key is not sticking out past the basket hub. I had to shorten the key on the engine in my 100 to get the bearing on all the way.
