Different lengths of needles?

Is there different lengths of needles on k series carbs? I ordered a needle and seat per tractor model and it seems as if the needle I got is too long. I cannot set the float properly. It was late last night and I didn't measure it but it just doesn't seem right:beerchug:

What model of tractor or engine are you working on...??

Or what Carb is it? Kohler or Walbro? I think the needles were different.

The new needle should look like the old one sat side by side.

It's a black 12 horse in a 1200, just got the tractor not sure if is the original equipment or not. It has the tie rod end style governor linkage. Any help would be great thanks guys!:beerchug:

That doesn't really help. How about some numbers off the carb? Or at least a model..... Is it a Kohler, Walbro, Carter..... Is it a fixed jet, or adjustable? A pic is fine, we need more info.

Adjustable,at work right now I will get a picture or numbers later

Also, need to know what part number you got. No matter what brand it is..... just need to know so we can see if it is correct or not. :beerchug:

It was a kohler carb and the needle was not the problem. I was trying to work on the carb on the tractor so I didn't notice this at first, when I pulled the carb off and turned it upside down the seet had actually backed out about three threads. Never had that happen so wasn't really looking for that. Got it back together and it runs like a champ!

you just can't rebuild a carb on the tractor, now when you put it back on don't forget to adjust the governor to the carb

Don't worry Don the plans for this motor is to end up by you, as long as my beans and corn yield like they should! I pull and play with mr. Kreif quite a bit and really like the 16 you did for him. We are going pulling together tomorrow, my first go round with this 1200 I picked up we will see what happens!:beerchug:
