Interesting question.... I've heard it pronounced as both the guys above.

But I've always said.... hah (a sound as in aqua) bon. :Unknown:

I've always pronounced it like the last name, Haban.

Hmm, that doesn't help much...how about this...

Ha (think: say the first half of "half") ben. That's a little better.

I wonder how long until someone gets frustrated trying to read everyones pronunciations and just records themselves saying it :biggrin2:

This is how I "read" it, but didn't know what was correct. Since haban was bought out in '95, guess I can't just call and ask.

This is how I read it too.

This is an interesting subject to me because when I read things on forums I may not be pronouncing the words correctly, then when I meet up with someone with similar interests I'm always afraid of saying the words wrong.

This is actually why I started this thread. I had a forum member stop by my place last week to get some parts and while we were chatting he said "haban." First person that had ever said it in front of me, and he said it like Sam said. Soooooo, got me thinking that I was wrong. Apparently we have 4 different pronunciations so far. lol

This is just like on the gun forums where they discuss how to pronounce hornady.
