Cub Cadet Original paint color?
 

Yesterday I was cleaning up the starter generator bracket on our Original while waiting for the starter generator to be rebuilt. I decided I wanted to paint it and I had an extra can of Case IronGuard paint in Federal Yellow from my Case 646. I painted the bracket and it looks like a good match. Our Original has well worn and faded paint so I'm not sure of the exact original color. Has anyone used the IronGuard Federal Yellow? and is it a close match to the original color of a Cub Cadet Original? Thanks.

It is indeed...at least I sure hope so!!! As far as I've gathered there's only been one code for the yellow - 483, and for a short period with an added rust inhibitor - 483b....this is the irongard match also known as federal yellow...

Thanks for the information. I thought it looked like a close match. I guess I got lucky having two different brand tractors the same color. The IronGuard paint seems to be a good paint that goes on thick and covers well but it's not cheap.
