Those who have restored Quietlines HELP!
Howdy,
I am mid restoration on a '74 Cub 1450. As I tore it apart and and got everything cleaned up, Ii noticed I tore off a lot of rubber trim, mainly around the front grill area. It's almost like cheap weather seal going between metal and metal. My question is, for those who have restored Quietlines, have any of you tried to replace this stuff? Is this even original or a PO add? Can I just bolt this thing back together without the stuff? Thank you in advance ! |
Didn't do a restore, but tore my 1650 apart when I got it and there was nothing in between the metal, come to think of it my parts 1250 had nothing either.
I'm thinking the po put something there to lesson the rattling. |
Never had a quietline with anything other then the rubber on the firewall

Got a pic of what out are talking about?

I don't remember anything like you describe on any of my QLs.

Need pictures.......

I Think Dave kirk sells foam trim for QL hoods

The only thing black by the grill is the decal between the upper grill and Lower grill and the rubber around the headlight. Then like others have said the rubber around the firewall or the bump stops by the top of the tower.

well, i dont have bpictures, and its already torn off. Must have been a PO mod. He probably could have just mounted the engine with 4 bolts instead of 2 and it would have had the same effect...

4 bolts instead of 2 ??? The PO only had two bolts holding the engine on the cradle?
