Corrupted into a new summer hobby.....
 

Two herniated disks in my back have had my golf game on hold since Memorial Day, and it ain't getting any better.....

Paging through all the nice rehab work you guys have done on the originals peaked my interest.

Wouldn't you know it I came across two originals in a corner of a barn down the road from me and from the serial numbers one is 12/61 and the other is 01/62 mfg date. Only got to briefly see them the other day but both are pretty rough. Gotta wait for the owner to get back to look closer and see if he wants to thin out the clutter out there.

It's all you guys fault that I am thinking this way ya know....at least that is what i am telling the wife!

I figured I could do some work on them to keep out of trouble since I can't play golf and I haven't found any coal stokers to re-hab since late winter.

If he doesn't shut down the conversation right away I'll get some pics to post on here.

Sorry to hear about your back. Hopefully he will sell them and for a reasonable price. I hate seeing stuff like that sit and rot , esp cubs! Good luck , hope to see some pics!

Hate to hear of anyone having back problems, and I'm not golfer, but at the end of the day while you're cleaning hands and finishing, you can enjoy your accomplishments or failures of the day. And enjoying the pleasure of keeping a part of the past up and running! Ah, now that's a good day with something to pass on.

Sorry to hear about your back. I know the limitations of your condition and the journey of cub addiction on which you sound like you are about to embark. Personally the rewards are far more tangible than golf but not sure how much easier it will be on your back. My repaired back now really appreciates my tractor lift and engine hoist :)

I am experiencing the wrath of back problems as I now have to go in on Tuesday to have my spine operation done all over again. I had it operated on the first of April and something went wrong. They are going in and take out all the metal work and try and go higher on my spine and lower with longer screws and more metal to try and get it right. The first time nearly killed me and I guess they want another try. I could walk without a cane before the first operation, now I can barely walk with a walker.. LOTS of pain... I will not let them keep me from my Cubs! They are just sleeping, awaiting my return..

Unfortunately the cubs are going to sit where they are for a while, he (or I think one of the sons) isn't ready to part with them even though there are no plans to do anything to them. Tried to leave things in a positive manner so that I will be the first call when they are ready to move them.

Good thinking, no need to burn the bridge. Some folks who have been hanging on to old tractors/implements need a couple of practice runs at letting the stuff go. Gravitational Pull!

Don't be discouraged. Just keep looking around. You can always find some more cubs.
