Looks like the steering is next on the list
I was able to get the brakes on my 104 adjusted and working properly over the weekend. So the steering will be next. It works, but there is a lot of play in there, and also, it turns a much tighter radius to the left than it does to the right. So far, this is the only other neccessary mechanical repair. Everything else seems to be in good working order. After this, it will be all about wants and fun upgrades such as a three point hitch, ags and ribs, paint, etc.
This looks to be a very addicting hobby. :biggrin2: |
Its not addicting, I can quit buying cubs whenever I want.:biggrin2:

I've bought my last Cub! :D

I used to golf. Golf is addicting.
Some other hobbies equally addicting. The Cubs are relatively cheap hobby (ok ok, more expensive than first thought but I know people that buy $2000 bicycles!). My wife has come to terms with it, although she rolls her eyes with the thought that I 'need' another tractor..... |
yeeter,
I'm with you. I don't have the $2,000 golf membership, I don't smoke, drink or chase women!! All those activities would cost more than my Cubs. |
Looks like I got really lucky. Since I don't have time to do a complete tear down of the steering right now I thought I would at least adjust the steering linkage so that it would steer evenly to each side. When I went to take the steering link joint loose from the steering lever the nut was very loose and there was a lot of play in that connection. After I adjusted the linkage, I put it all back together and properly tightened the joint to the lever. Now the steering is almost like new. There is a tiny amount of play, but it is almost unnoticeable. I am a happy camper!!!

"Hobby"?
This ain't no hobby, it's a life style!:beerchug: Glad you got the steering fixed. "Almost like new" is pretty darn good.:bigthink: |

Recently, Mrs. Cubby asked me why I like using my Cub Cadet on our "postage Stamp" size yard.. Only thing I could say to that was "If you use a Cub Cadet, no explanation is ever needed. If you don't use a Cub, no explanation will ever be sufficient." I thought her eyes were gonna spin out the sockets.... :RollEyes2: :RollEyes2: :RollEyes2: |
