Sounds from the 'hood...
I was running my 73 this past weekend and the battery was very sluggish starting (and it is new battery as of Nov.). It ran around the yard about 5 min. then stopped all of a sudden. The engine is fine, but when I try to restart it wouldn't and I heard a swishing sound from the front with some light smoke. I got the cub off a guy that let it sit out for about 3-5 years. The engine is strong, so is it my starter/generator brushes (what I think) or would it be my voltage regulator. How do I test either of these to see if they are good or not. Thanks in advance!
