What a haul!

Another fantastic day! Just got in with a IH Cub Cadet 1450!

My 1450 starts and drives fine. The engine sounds real good without smoke! No creep from the transmission.

Then I picked up a cast iron AQS oil pan for my #1 1450,.....was five bucks! Woot!

I'm glad to have this 1450, that's for sure! This was another junk yard save, BTW .

Great finds! I love the "saved from a junkyard" stories, kinda like a last minute rescue :biggrin2: I've got my number left at a local scrap yard to call when anything Cub Cadet comes in, but it never does :(

Thanks bud! You better believe I have an 86 lined up and ready to move in with everybody else!! This model 86 has its little connecting arm broke, hence the nice appearance and condition of the tractor,...so its fair to assume a longer period of down time.

I happen to save cans both aluminum and steel, and have been going to the same yard for 12 years or so. Anyhow, I see the 1450 way down toward the back of the yard...next to a huge Cat track hoe equipped with a magnet. Well, I sure did start chirping when I saw that! My friends brought the 1450 up to the front and held it for me until I had all of the $140 to pay for it and the oil pan. Man, I'm kicking myself as there is a very nice 44" IH mower deck there still. And the engine I removed the oil pan probably ran and came from a 128/9 or something because it was a Kohler K301.

I purchased the 1450 for parts for my good 1450.

Thanks, and yup, it was easy to get going! Now, my 1211 will need some help to get it going, but both the transmission and engine seem to check out positive. Got the 1211 for $110.
